Day 1: Pick up from Kigali International Airport Rwanda.
Upon arrival in Rwanda’s international airport of Kigali , you will be welcomed by your Guide of Active African vacations and transfer to the hotel for relaxation after the long flight, Dinner and overnight at Five to Five Hotels (Enjoy the short city tour of Kigali Visiting the Genocide Memorials).
Day 2: Transfer from Kigali to Bukavu : Eastern DR Congo.
You will be picked up by the company guide and you transfer to Bukavu Congo, During the 6-7 hours’ drive you will see the hills of Rwanda can clearly drawing the conclusion why Rwanda is called the land of thousand hills, Lunch at Nyungwe forest hill top Lodge (Depending of time) and later continue to cross the Rwanda border to Congo and dinner and overnight at Hotel Begonias.
Day 3: First Gorilla trekking in Kahuzi Biega National park.
After early morning breakfast jump into the safari jeep and drive for 2 Hours to Kahuzi-Biege national Park headquarter for briefying about the dos and don’ts of eastern lowland gorillas to the gorilla trekkers and after enter into the swamp lands to search for the endangered lowland gorillas which may last for 2-5 hours, with one hours for taking photos and videos, After gorilla trekking return to the lodge for relaxation. Dinner and overnight as above.
Day 4: Second Lowland Gorilla Trekking .
Early morning after breakfast, take 1 and half hour drive to Kahuzi Biega National Park for briefing about the dos and don’ts while on eastern lowland gorilla trekking in the jungle and after enter into the forest to search for the primates and this activity can last for 2 -6 hours depending on their movement, once found you will spend one hour with them to allow you take photos and videos. After tracking, Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight as above, the journey from Bukavu to Kahuzi Biega National park is 1& Half Hour drive.
Day 5 Nature Walk & Visiting Lwiro Chimpanzee orphanage
After morning breakfast, you will take another drive to Kahuzi biega national park for nature walk to the water falls and visit the Orphanage Chimpanzees in Lwiro Falls. Dinner and overnight as above.
Day 6: Transfer from Bukavu to Volcanoes National park
After morning breakfast (Border opens 8:00 am), Embark into the safari jeep and drive to cross the border and drive to volcanoes national park the home to the mountain gorillas, golden monkey in Africa, Volcanoes national park is located in the northern province of Rwanda and its ranked as the best for gorilla trekking in Africa. You will arrive in Musanze in the evening time and if time allows visit the twin lakes or local communities. Dinner and overnight at Davinci Gorilla Lodge.
Day 7: Golden Monkey Tracking in Volcanoes National Parks.
Briefing on the golden monkey tracking code of conduct. Unlike mountain gorillas, golden monkeys exist in large families and can be seen jumping from one tree branch to another; playing and looking for food. You are granted an hour with the playful creatures before returning to your lodge, have lunch and in the afternoon drive to cross the border to Uganda. Dinner and overnight at Bwindi Jungle lodge. Day 8 : First Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga National Park
On this day gorilla trekking will be done in Mgahinga national park which is part of the virunga mountains which is great for better comparison of the gorilla landscapes and terrains . After a morning heavy breakfast and with packed lunch you will transfer to the park offices for briefing and then later on at 9:00 am commence the gorilla trek along the tracks in the thick forest searching for these great apes. Depending on the movement of these humble giants the trek might take between 2-9 hours before you encounter the Gorillas. Though the walk is tiresome meeting these great apes and spending some time with them while looking deep into their expressive brown eyes, is an exhilarating and heart breaking wildlife encounter that Africa has to offer. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Camp.
Day 9 Second Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Park
The second gorilla trekking will be done in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park which is not part of the virunga mountains and the terrain is totally different from the gorilla trekking in Virunga Mountain rangers . After a morning heavy breakfast and with packed lunch you will transfer to the park offices for briefing and then later on at 9:00 am commence the gorilla trek along the tracks in the thick forest searching for these great apes. Depending on the movement of these humble giants the trek might take between 2-9 hours before you encounter the Gorillas. Though the walk is tiresome meeting these great apes and spending some time with them while looking deep into their expressive brown eyes, is an exhilarating and heart breaking wildlife encounter that Africa has to offer. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight at Arcadia Lodges on Lake Bunyonyi.
Day 10: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
You will wake up in clear day take a one and half journey to cross to Rwanda from Congo and proceed to drive and cross to Uganda to queen Elizabeth national park passing through ishaha sector the heaven for the tree climbing lions in the queen Elizabeth park, later proceed to the Lodge for dinner and overnight: Bush lodge. Day 11: Game Drive & Boat Cruise in Queen Elizabeth national park
Early morning breakfast and you will go for the morning game drive to search for the big five animals, the game drive will last for a duration of 4 hours and return to the lodge to relax as you wait for lunch and later go for the boat cruise on kazinga channel that connects lake Edward and lake George as you watch out other wildlife animals along the banks. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight, Meal plan: F/B
Day 12: Early morning enjoy simple game drive and proceed to Kibale Forest national Park.
Have breakfast you will go for morning game drive and later transfer to Kibale Forest National Park with the fabled view of the mountain of the moon. Dinner and overnight at Isunga lodge. Meal plan: F/B.
Day 13 Chimpanzee Tracking
As the Uganda wildlife authority policy that chimpanzee tracking has to start at exactly 8:00am, after the morning breakfast you will drive to the park headquarters for briefying about the chimpanzee tracking rules and regulations after enter into the jungle of Kibale national park to search for the chimpanzee in their wilderness with the ranger guides. The chimpanzee tracking may last for a duration of 3-4 hours including one hour of stay with the apes once they are found to allow you take photos and videos as they play and feed in the jungle as you may spot out other primates like the Vervet monkeys, white and black colobus, Red tailed monkeys and manageably. Day 14: Relaxation and nature walk to the craters
Day 15. Transfer to Entebbe for the flight back home.
After morning breakfast, you will transfer to Entebbe.
